The John U. Nef Committee on Social Thought is an interdisciplinary, Ph.D.-granting graduate program at the University of Chicago. Its guiding principle is that the serious study of many academic topics, and of many philosophical, historical, theological and literary works, is best prepared for by a wide and deep acquaintance with the fundamental issues and texts presupposed in all such studies.

The Helen Zell Writers’ Program is a two-year, fully funded creative writing graduate program leading to an MFA degree, with a guaranteed, fully funded third-year fellowship, based at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
